Oh hi again! And welcome back on my blog for my second post for Canada Cups 2017 – Coming Unwired!

It’s been a while since I wrote on my own blog… It ‘s been….months! There was actually snow on the ground (insert horrified emoji) when I last shared a project in here…. Remember when, back in Febuary, I told you about my new and exciting adventure at Club Tissus? Well, that chapter of my life has become more and more exciting every day since! So of course, like a really busy bee, I have been neglecting the blog a little (a lot)! But do not worry too much, I can assure you, I am more than ever involved in all things sewing!

I swear to you, I will come back really soon and tell you more about it, but today is the time to talk about lingerie! Yay! You all know how I loooove lingerie sewing! I even registered for a bra making class starting next week at Club Tissus Laval and I am so excited about it! I have heard about how great the teacher is so many times! I even convinced 2 friends to join me (it was soooooooo easy!!! ahah!) Keep on reading until the end because I have a few coupon codes to share with you for rebates or free shipping and even an announcement about a giveaway!

Canada Cups 2016

My first dive into lingerie sewing was exactly one year ago, when I was invited to join on the Canada Cups 2016 blog tour! Last year, we reviewed all the lingerie classes from Craftsy and sewed using Canadian patterns and supplies. Starting with a Craftsy class was the perfect introduction for the newbie that I was. I made a few projects for the tour last year: a bra, a silk camisole and a jersey camisole and I continued all year long to dream and sew lingerie projects. Here’s 2 of my favorites projects that you might have seen on my Instagram account, 2  Harriet Bras by Cloth Habbit using exclusively supplies from Club Tissus.

I have to say, I was convinced sewing bras was really, really hard, but as it turns out, they are no different then any sewing project! If you know how to zig zag stitch and sew curved seams, you can sew bras, people!

Anouk Bodysuit by Ohh Lulu

Canada Cups 2017 is all about lingerie again, but this time, we are leaving the underwires out! Comfortable soft bras and bodysuits that you will wear like pajamas! But, you know me, I am not one to wear casual things.  You won’t be surprise to see that I did compromise comfort with elegance and a touch of my own personal style.

If you have been following the tour, you probably saw my post on Club Tissus’ blog two days ago where I share my modified Violeta, lingerie style, by Jalie. I am back with another bodysuit, this time by Ohh Lulu. It’s the Anouk bodysuit, one of her latest pattern.

I really loved sewing the Anouk bodysuit. Like every Ohh Lulu patterns, it is really well drafted and the instructions are just perfect. There are no details left out from the instruction, making it easy, even for those who never sewed lingerie in their life! I love the versatility of the pattern, it includes 2 different necklines and strapping options and you can turn it into a bathing suit by simply changing the fabrics!

The cup lining of this pattern is so professional! There is no visible seam inside at all. Again, I was surprised to see how easy it was to do! Sarah, the designer even made videos on her Youtube Channel if you prefer to follow the direction this way. By the way, every single videos are worth watching!

I used a black Shaper Mesh from Club Tissus and it’s the perfect fabric for the Anouk! It’s not quite as firm as our Power Mesh which would be more appropriate if you where going for support. I wanted to create a delicate bodysuit, play with transparency and different textures. I also used a 9 inches wide stretch lace trim of the most gorgeous color! Unfortunately, it’s not available online, but you will find lots of other choices that I am burning to get for myself! The only modification I made was to use an elastic trim around the neckline instead of FOE. I really like it this way! It’s the perfect complement to the lace and elastic strap!

I bought everything from elastic to fabric from the Club Tissus Laval Store. Well, this is where my office is, but’s it’s also my favorite fabric store ever!  I fall in love with new fabrics on a daily basis. Of coure! My wish list was soooooo long, I didn’t even think about which fabric I wanted for the tour, it jumped right into my hands!

And yes, in case you where wondering, I was a little nerveous to post theses modeled photos here and on my social media.. I don’t usually walk around in my underwear outside the house! Still, I am glad I had the courage to do it! I can now cross model lingerie out from my bucket list! Ahah!
